Overview In this role you lead a laboratory team to drive growth, training, and performance while safeguarding quality and safety. You will manage resources, KPI-driven improvements, and daily production to meet department and company goals. You'll strengthen training programs, oversee compliance with quality systems, and support cross-functional stakeholders. Responsibilities- Manage departmental growth paths through goal setting and evaluations
- Oversee daily department production and ensure targets and throughput
- Maintain training completeness and quality management system compliance
- Lead performance management for direct reports with regular feedback
- Monitor resources, equipment, space, and staffing to meet goals
- Drive continuous improvement and best practices to maximize efficiency and data quality
- Coordinate daily workflow to ensure high-quality results and timely turnaround
- Provide technical support to internal teams and clients regarding testing and reporting
- Lead investigations and root cause analyses for safety or operational incidents
- Promote safety culture and ensure adherence to SGS SOPs and policies
Key requirements- Bachelor in Science in Chemistry or related field (required)
- 3-5 years in a management or supervisory role (required)
- Alternative: Associate's Degree in Chemistry or similar with minimum 6 years of relevant analytical chem experience
