Overview As a Senior Medical Science Liaison in Dermatology, you will serve as a field-based scientific expert for J&J Innovative Medicines. You'll build and sustain strategic relationships with key thought leaders, provide objective scientific information, and support medical strategy and investigator-initiated studies. You'll stay current with treatment landscapes and translate evidence into meaningful discussions. Your work strengthens medical credibility and advances patient care within a collaborative, compliant environment.
Responsibilities- Develop and execute a territory scientific engagement plan aligned with Medical Affairs strategy
- Engage in high-quality two-way scientific exchange with KOLs and HCPs to identify gaps and trends
- Cultivate professional relationships with community and academic HCPs/KOLs to enhance credibility
- Use insights and MSL tools to inform customer engagements and identify risks/opportunities
- Leverage AI tools to improve decision-making and efficiency across core duties
- Address provider educational needs with tailored, evidence-based responses
- Deliver scientific data appropriately tailored to HCPs and translate complex evidence into discussion
- Collect and share actionable insights to inform medical strategy and asset planning
- Provide point-of-contact support for both company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies
- Respond to unsolicited inquiries with scientifically sound, compliant information
- Adhere to Medical Affairs strategy and adapt plans based on evolving data and priorities
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across R&D, Global Medical Affairs, and Sales/Marketing
- Demonstrate ongoing scientific development and contribute to the education of the medical team
- Foster inclusion and align with One J&J goals at local and national levels
- Understand regulatory, compliance, and Medical Affairs SOPs; support leadership development and efficient administration
Key requirements- Doctorate degree or equivalent experience required (PharmD, PhD, MD, etc.)
- 2+ years of relevant MSL experience
- Strong scientific/therapeutic expertise with data analysis and strategic thinking
- Ability to cover a defined territory with up to 70% travel and valid US driver's license
- Experience in cross-functional collaboration and external scientific engagement
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CoPilot and remote technologies
- Knowledge or experience in therapeutic area (Dermatology/Immunology) preferred
- Residency/fellowship preferred for doctoral candidates
