Overview

In this role you drive project success for medium-sized construction ventures, balancing design compliance, budget, schedule, and quality. You work closely with clients, manage risk, and lead safety culture on site. You coordinate subcontracts, major purchases, and progress payments while communicating milestones and outcomes to stakeholders. You contribute to design-build efforts through quality and constructability oversight, ensuring closeout is thorough and on track. This role sits at the core of PCL's community-focused, innovative project teams.

Responsibilities
  • Provide contract administration, technical guidance, and support for a medium-sized project
  • Develop and implement the project safety plan; lead by example on health and safety
  • Ensure construction aligns with design, budget, resources, quality, and schedule
  • Offer value engineering proposals to improve functionality, cost, and schedule
  • Manage project performance; provide status reports on safety, cost, and schedule
  • Negotiate and issue subcontracts and major purchase orders; monitor progress and schedule
  • Enforce contract documents and requirements
  • Coordinate project closeout planning and activities
  • Identify and manage risks and opportunities on the project
  • For design-build projects: monitor design progress for compliance, quality, and constructability; conduct quality audits; manage stakeholder communications
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, or related field
  • 8-10 years of progressive construction experience with leadership and mentoring preferred
  • Demonstrated experience building a strong safety culture and applying EHS principles and legislation
  • In-depth knowledge of construction materials, specifications, methods, codes, and safety and quality management
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time-management skills with budget and schedule management
  • Ability to identify and manage project risks and opportunities; stakeholder relationship management
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and project management/scheduling software; openness to adopting new technology
