Overview As an Administrative Support Services - Project Manager for DOE's Loan Programs Office, you drive professional management and analytical support for loan origination, guarantees, and monitoring of clean energy projects. You work within the DOE/FEMP framework to guide loan lifecycle activities and collaborate with federal staff and lenders. You'll help optimize strategies for utility regulation, project finance, and portfolio management. Responsibilities- Plan, administer, and operate DOE loan programs including origination, guarantees, and monitoring
- Support full loan lifecycle from proposal solicitation to evaluation, due diligence, commitments, and post-award monitoring
- Provide technical expertise in nuclear, fossil, transmission, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and advanced manufacturing technologies
- Manage large non-recourse project finance deals ($100M-$1.5B) and large corporate loans up to $5-$8B
- Collaborate with LPO and DOE staff on underwriting and loan monitoring (not turnkey loan servicing)
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in finance, engineering, or economics; advanced degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience in energy or finance, with emphasis on large non-recourse finance and corporate loans
- Strong analytical and financial skills including budgeting, risk assessment, credit and economic analysis
- Knowledge of DOE loan programs (e.g., Section 1703, 1705, ATVM)
- Excellent written and verbal communication with diverse stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, handle multiple tasks and deadlines, adapt to changing priorities
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with data analytic tools and Visio are a plus
