Overview In this role you will launch and lead a new pathology testing lab in Deerfield Beach, guiding operations from setup to steady, high-volume performance. You will work with management to align the facility with company goals, oversee staff, and ensure quality and compliance across testing, reporting, and client interactions. Your leadership will shape the lab's culture, safety, and efficiency as you scale to handle substantial test volumes. This is a hands-on opportunity to build a robust, compliant testing operation from the ground up.

Responsibilities- Turn the facility into a fully functional testing laboratory in collaboration with management
- Maintain safe physical lab environment and ensure hazard controls
- Manage and coordinate laboratory personnel and assign duties
- Instruct staff on tasks, promote best practices, ensure compliance with standards
- Ensure proficiency testing participation and quality of delivery and reporting
- Assess staffing needs and advise on recruiting
- Implement quality control and quality assurance programs and address deviations
- Provide client-facing reporting and consultancy on test results and methodologies
- Supervise testing activities and ensure proper handover of reports to clients
- Establish client data and billing processes
Key requirements- M.D. or D.O. with medical license in the lab location
- Board certification in anatomical and/or clinical pathology by APB or AOBP or equivalent
- Or MD/DO with relevant director-level laboratory experience (1 year supervision of non-waived testing) or 20 CME credits in lab practice
- Equivalent laboratory training (20 CMEs) during medical residency
