Overview In this Estimator role, you will lead engineered estimates for electrical projects, shaping pricing and scope for multi-million dollar work. You'll collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate budgets and identify gaps, drawing on your knowledge of NEC and take-off practices. You'll mentor junior staff while refining estimating processes and software usage. This position partners with senior leadership to win work and deliver precise cost planning for complex installations.
Responsibilities- Lead fully engineered estimates up to $5M
- Develop conceptual estimates and budgets up to $1M
- Review proposal scope to ensure appropriate coverage
- Create detailed cost estimates and identify deficiencies, guiding project teams
- Review contract documents and modifications to determine scope and cost allowances
- Review estimate take-offs and NEC familiarity
- Proficiency with estimating software
- Mentor Estimator Trainees & Estimator 1 staff
Key requirements- Four year Construction/Engineering degree or equivalent
- 2+ years experience with a commercial electrical contractor
- 1+ years electrical estimating experience with on-screen take-off preferred
- Computer literate with ability to master department software
- Familiarity with NEC and contract documents
