Overview In this role you support a nationally recognized insurance coverage practice within a leading international law firm. You will analyze complex policies, draft coverage opinions, and provide actionable recommendations to domestic and international insurers. You'll participate in depositions, mediations, and trials, collaborating with partners to advance high-exposure matters. This hybrid CA-based position offers mentorship, client exposure, and opportunities to shape coverage strategy on significant disputes.
Compensation / Benefits- base salary $160,000-$275,000

Responsibilities- Analyze insurance policies and draft detailed coverage opinions
- Provide clear and actionable coverage recommendations for clients
- Conduct legal research using Westlaw, Lexis, and other research tools
- Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials
- Draft interrogatories, document requests, and responses
- Review and analyze document collections in preparation for litigation
- Engage in direct communication with domestic and international insurers
- Collaborate with partners and team members to advance case objectives with efficiency and precision
Key requirements- JD from an ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic record
- Active California Bar admission in good standing (will consider other bars for seasoned candidates)
- 3+ years of substantive litigation experience focusing on insurance coverage matters
- Experience analyzing complex insurance policies
- Ability to provide clear coverage recommendations
- Experience drafting litigation-related documents
- Experience participating in litigation proceedings (depositions, mediations)
- Familiarity with bad faith, CGL, commercial property, E&O, and D&O
- Exceptional legal research and writing skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team
