Overview In this role you drive leadership of the Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) across the West region, partnering with Medical Affairs and Clinical Development to support clinical studies. You mentor and assess field teams, ensuring accountability and performance. You will provide scientific leadership in oncology, collaborate cross-functionally, and help shape medical strategy with external stakeholders. Responsibilities- Provide leadership, direction and management of the MSLs within the region
- Develop talent within the MSL team via goal setting, oversight, coaching, performance assessment and engagement
- Provide field-level scientific leadership in assigned therapeutic area(s) in collaboration with home office medical colleagues
- Collaborate effectively and compliantly with cross-functional and alliance leadership
- Ensure targets are defined and accountability is driven within teams
Key requirements- Advanced scientific terminal degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) with 8+ years in pharma/biotech
- Previous experience managing field-based medical teams
- Proven performance in prior roles
- Experience supervising field-based medical teams in leadership capacity preferred
- Knowledge of FDA, OIG, HIPAA, PhRMA and other regulatory/ethical guidelines
- Oncology experience preferred
- Travel required for conferences, congresses, meetings, training and KOL/HCP interactions
