Overview As an Architect at Burns & McDonnell, you will lead design and development of structures, balancing technical excellence with budgeting and staffing to keep projects on track. You'll collaborate with project managers to shape conceptual development and maintain productive design teams. You'll ensure code compliance, risk management, and effective client relationships to drive project success. Responsibilities- Conceive, design, and prepare working drawings for new or modified structures
- Supervise design and technical development of projects
- Prepare project budget scenarios and track hours
- Suggest staffing and production plans to meet project performance
- Define productivity and profit goals with project managers
- Collaborate with project managers on conceptual development
- Develop and maintain client relationships to bring projects to fruition
- Ensure design support team productivity and efficiency
- Conduct check set reviews, code compliance, and risk management reviews
- Coordinate with contractors on pricing, bidding, and construction
- Other duties as assigned
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Architecture
- Minimum 4 years of related experience (master's may substitute for 1 year)
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to apply broad architectural knowledge to diverse assignments
- Ability to devise new approaches to problems
- Consulting experience preferred
- Proficient in REVIT
