Overview In this role you will lead on-site management for a major rail transit project in Los Angeles, focusing on utility construction and design-build contracts. You will oversee contract administration, coordinate with the design-build team and third parties, and drive timely project delivery. You'll manage field progress, reporting, and environmental and community impact mitigation, while shaping the execution of a high-value infrastructure program. Responsibilities- Manage on-site construction of design-build contracts and report to owner agency CM staff
- Maintain deficiency lists, action lists, and Non-Conformance Reports; enforce corrective actions
- Coordinate with DB contractor and third parties on design/construction activities
- Lead and publish minutes for weekly and coordination meetings
- Monitor progress against the master schedule and develop workaround schedules
- Prepare accurate construction and contingency forecasts; provide monthly field progress reports
- Review submittals for compliance and close issues after review
- Support community relations to mitigate construction impacts and coordinate with CEQA/NEPA requirements
- Monitor environmental and sustainability compliance and report results monthly
- Coordinate survey work and RFIs; respond to contractor inquiries
- Analyze claims and change requests; assist in processing COs and modifications
- Assist in negotiations and preparation of board agenda items
- Ensure day-to-day management of large CM staff and contract administration processes
Key requirements- Bachelor in engineering or construction management; PE license desirable
- Approximately 10 years in heavy civil construction management of large projects; or 15 years in lieu of degree
- 5 years of CM/resident engineer experience on major contracts
- Experience relocating utilities (water, gas, power, sewer, storm, telecom)
- LA-area utility coordination experience desirable; transit projects >$300M; design-build experience preferred
- Experience with administration of construction and design contracts; on-site CM leadership
- Ability to obtain Cal/OSHA 30; valid California Class C license
