Overview In this role you provide leadership for psychiatric clinical services within MDH facilities or programs. You will supervise physicians and health-care staff, ensuring 24/7 psychiatric coverage and high-quality patient care. The position anchors either unit/ward administration or a clinical program, contributing to MDH's mission to deliver comprehensive mental health services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and operate within a regulatory framework to maintain standards and on-call readiness. This is a hands-on leadership role with a meaningful impact on patient outcomes and system-wide practice.
Responsibilities- Supervise psychiatrists/physicians and health-care staff in a 24/7 facility or supervise administrative staff in a headquarters program
- Serve as Unit/Ward Administrator or Clinical Program Administrator with responsibility for service delivery and program outcomes
- Ensure on-call psychiatric coverage on a monthly basis
- Oversee clinical operations to maintain quality and compliance with licensing requirements
- Coordinate with other departments to align clinical services with organizational goals
Key requirements- Board certification in Psychiatry by the American Board of Medical Specialties or other Board approved by the Maryland Board of Physicians
