Overview

As a Preconstruction SME in Autodesk's Construction Technical Sales, you guide strategic customers through preconstruction workflows and Autodesk Forma solutions. You partner with sales and technical teams to translate challenges into measurable outcomes, supporting complex opportunities and executive engagements. You help modernize preconstruction processes to improve efficiency, reduce risk, and drive growth. This role blends deep domain expertise with customer advocacy to shape how clients plan, pursue, and win work.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic sales support for complex opportunities involving preconstruction workflows and Autodesk Forma solutions
  • Collaborate with Account Executives, Technical Specialists, Customer Success, and channel partners to advance opportunities
  • Conduct discovery to map client processes, goals, and technology ecosystems; translate pain points into measurable outcomes
  • Position Autodesk's offerings with competitive insight and industry perspective throughout the sales cycle
  • Support technical evaluations, executive presentations, workshops, and proposals
  • Act as SME across the preconstruction lifecycle (takeoff, estimating, bidding, procurement, budgeting, forecasting, risk management)
  • Advise on best practices, workflow optimization, and digital transformation initiatives
  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders from estimators to executives
  • Represent Autodesk at events through presentations and thought leadership on preconstruction trends
  • Contribute to enablement by training, content creation, and scalable playbooks
  • Influence product strategy by sharing customer insights and workflow requirements
Key requirements
  • 10+ years of construction industry experience with leadership or practitioner roles in preconstruction, estimating, bidding, procurement, or related disciplines
  • Experience in roles such as Estimator, Senior Estimator, Chief Estimator, Preconstruction Manager, or Director of Preconstruction
  • Deep understanding of commercial preconstruction workflows, standards, and project delivery methods
  • Strong ability to connect technology investments to measurable business outcomes
  • Excellent presentation, communication, facilitation, and executive engagement skills
  • Experience leading customer-facing discussions with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%
