Overview In this role you lead mid-sized and complex NYS building projects, guiding construction and renovation efforts to support state facilities. You collaborate with cross-functional teams and consultants to ensure plans meet requirements and timelines. Your work helps scale successful projects across the state and may involve coordinating design and professional services. Responsibilities- Manage medium-sized and fairly complex new building construction projects and rehabilitation/renovation for NYS facilities
- Assist higher-level staff in managing more complex projects
- Oversee and monitor consultant contracts
- Coordinate design, construction, and professional services requests from other state agencies
- Review and supervise consultant projects
- Perform full range of supervisory duties
- Travel as required (approximately 50%)
- Other duties as assigned
Key requirements- Seven years of multi-trade building construction experience, including two years of managing multiple projects
- Experience in: construction planning, coordination of multiple trades, cost estimating, project scheduling, material purchasing, resource management (labor, material, equipment scheduling), and construction document reading/interpretation
- Possession and maintenance of a valid NYS Driver's License
