Overview In this role you guide cost and procurement strategies across projects, ensuring value, risk control, and timely reporting. You will lead a team of cost consultants, drive process improvements, and support the client through contract administration and final accounting. Responsibilities- Lead feasibility studies and advise on procurement strategies and contract selection
- Apply value management techniques at project outset
- Own and present final cost plans including cost estimation and planning
- Support the procurement process across prequalification, enquiry, analysis, selection and contract preparation
- Oversee contract documents, warranties, bonds, licenses and execution
- Advise on administration of building contracts and monitor valuations
- Ensure cost control and reporting during contracts, including monthly post-contract cost reports
- Identify costs from design changes, awards, construction activities and client charges
- Evaluate delay and additional cost claims by contractor or nominated subcontractors/suppliers
- Issue certificates of making good defects and manage completion paperwork and final accounts
- Manage and mentor a team of cost consultants, driving performance and development
- Drive improvements in systems, processes and transformational change
- Provide mentoring and training to team members
- Identify and implement continuous improvement plans
- Collaborate to support net-zero carbon transition and manage associated emissions reductions
Key requirements- Degree in quantity surveying/cost management (or equivalent)
- MRICS/RICS (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of most forms of contract
- Knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, contract law and contractual frameworks for construction
- Proficient knowledge in a specific project sector/market
- Relevant technical qualification/certification for project portfolio/s
- Knowledge of contract administration and contract management
- Knowledge of contractual frameworks relating to construction
