Overview

Lead as the primary testifying expert on high-profile construction disputes, focusing on design/ construction defect analysis and standard of care for contractors and design professionals. Work within Ankura's PLDC group to deliver objective, credible conclusions for court, arbitration, and dispute resolution settings. Guide teams, manage client communications, and shape strategies that influence multi-million-dollar outcomes. This role offers a path to establish leadership as a definitive expert and to impact major projects across the U.S.

Responsibilities
  • Lead after-the-fact evaluations of design/construction deficiencies and defects, water intrusion issues, and standard of care for contractors and design professionals.
  • Serve as Testifying Expert in depositions, mediations, and trials, presenting technical findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Perform forensic analysis of project documentation to establish liability and causation.
  • Oversee data gathering and quality control of technical work product.
  • Supervise and mentor project personnel, including analysts and junior associates.
  • Plan engagements, prepare proposals and budgets, and manage client communications for senior review.
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture; advanced degree preferred
  • Architectural license required; NCARB certification preferred
  • 10+ years in construction/engineering with at least 5 years in disputes/forensic consulting focused on defects, liability, and claims
  • Proven active Testifying Expert on construction defect and standard of care matters (2-3 matters)
  • Proficiency in design, building codes, and construction methods; experience with forensic analysis of deficiencies and remedial repair protocols
  • Exceptional analytical, written, and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences
