Overview

In this role you will provide on-site and remote independent engineering advisory services for the DOE EDF program, focusing on risk management, due diligence, and construction monitoring. You will translate technical findings into lender-ready outputs, coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders to support financing decisions. The work combines engineering rigor with regulatory and financial considerations to enable large-scale energy projects. This is a senior consultant-level opportunity offering remote project support across the United States and site visits as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Independent engineering advisory support for EDF program due diligence, credit evaluation, lifecycle monitoring, and assurance activities
  • On-site technical representation, field observation, issue resolution, and construction compliance
  • Review project documentation and interfaces, identify risks and mitigations, support disbursement readiness
  • Prepare defensible work products: daily reports, field directives, punch lists, contractor coordination, and field records
  • Coordinate with engineering, finance, legal, construction, operations, environmental, HSE, and project controls stakeholders for lender and DOE decisions
  • Participate in data room reviews, interviews, site observations, and monthly monitoring meetings
  • Prepare Independent Engineer reports for DOE, LPO, credit, and governance stakeholders
  • Translate technical evidence into actionable risk, compliance, and financing implications
Key requirements
  • 10+ years in engineering, construction, operations, compliance, risk, finance, or energy infrastructure advisory
  • Experience on oil & gas, power, utilities, or large-scale infrastructure projects for owners or lenders
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
  • Preferred credentials: PE, PMP, CSP, API, NACE/AMPP, PMI
  • Strong technical judgment, analytical rigor, and ability to produce defensible documentation
