Overview In this role you lead the institutional housekeeping program across multiple shifts and a large campus, ensuring a clean and safe environment. You supervise custodial supervisors and frontline staff, maintain compliance with cleaning standards and regulatory codes, and coordinate cross-functional housekeeping operations. You drive quality control, safety, and service delivery through systems like AiM, while aligning with campus needs and strategic priorities. You play a key part in upholding the university's commitment to a high-quality, welcoming environment for students and staff.
Responsibilities- Oversee shift work order management and assign tasks to Supervisors; monitor progress in AiM and ensure timely execution
- Supervise night shift and specialty custodial operations to maintain consistent service quality
- Manage the weekly building quality control program and APPA-level inspections for assigned buildings
- Oversee maintenance standards and adherence to cleanliness and operational policies
- Lead day-to-day administrative duties including recruitment, disciplinary actions, FMLA, accommodations, timekeeping, and union contract administration
- Manage staffing metrics (vacancy levels, staffing levels) and supervise custodial training compliance
- Coordinate procurement, equipment lifecycle, maintenance programs, and inventory control
- Oversee Assetworks AiM usage, work order completion, and accuracy of information
- Supervise campus-wide floor care and emergency response for water incidents
- Coordinate summer maintenance, housing turnover, conference/event turnover, and winter weather incident management
- Collaborate with university schools/departments on custodial service requirements and performance; act as primary contact for assigned key customers
- Coordinate custodial KPI and customer satisfaction programs; liaise with custodial leadership; ensure policy and regulatory compliance
Key requirements- 5 years of supervisory or management experience leading a team of at least twenty personnel
- Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record
- Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills; leadership and accountability in team settings
- Ability to read, write, and speak effectively; conflict resolution and feedback
- Comfort with multitasking, quality assurance, and customer relations; basic MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
