Overview

In this role you drive project delivery for California Buildings, guiding safety, cost, schedule and quality on a medium-size construction project. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to align design, budget and client needs, and you push value engineering to improve functionality and efficiency. You manage risk, contracts, and stakeholder expectations while ensuring compliant closeout. Responsibilities
  • Provide contract administration, technical guidance, and support to a medium-size project
  • Develop and lead the project safety plan and promote a strong safety culture
  • Ensure construction adheres to design, budget, resources, quality and schedule
  • Manage value engineering proposals to improve function, cost, and schedule
  • Oversee project performance with status reports on safety, cost forecast, and schedule
  • Negotiate and issue subcontracts and major purchase orders, monitor progress and payments
  • Enforce contract and contract documents; coordinate project closeout
  • Identify and manage risks and opportunities on construction projects
  • For design-build: monitor design progress, compliance, constructability, and deliverable timing; conduct quality audits and keep stakeholders informed
Key requirements
  • 8-10 years of progressive construction experience with leadership and mentoring preferred
  • Strong safety culture and knowledge of health, safety, and environment principles and legislation
  • In-depth knowledge of construction materials, specifications, methods, codes, and quality practices
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills with budget and schedule management
  • Ability to identify and manage risk and opportunities; establish relationships with key stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and project management/scheduling software; adaptability to new technology
