Overview As Antiperspirant Technology Scientist, you drive next-generation AP products through deep chemistry and formulation expertise. You will lead hands-on R&D, data interpretation, and customer-focused tech engagement to advance the AP portfolio. You'll support manufacturing with process optimization and cost reduction, expanding our technology platform and contributing to IP. Responsibilities- Develop AP products based on Aluminum and Aluminum Zirconium chemistries and expand formulation approaches
- Maintain and grow AP technology knowledge base for global product line
- Design novel characterization methods to assess AP efficacy beyond clinical testing
- Build active-performance relationships in customer formulations to guide design
- Initiate exploratory research to drive long-term innovation in Al and Zr chemistry
- Conduct hands-on lab work on independent R&D projects and generate high-quality data
- Interpret clinical trial outputs and integrate statistics with chemistry insights for decisions
- Provide GLP/OTC-compliance manufacturing support including process optimization and cost reduction
- Optimize synthetic processes and raw materials to reduce costs and maximize asset use
- Develop new uses for out-of-spec materials to recapture value
- Maintain material and product specifications; resolve customer issues
- Translate customer challenges into new product opportunities through direct engagement
- Participate in conferences and customer visits to support product understanding
- Identify new opportunities via technology scouting and competitive analysis
- Contribute to IP portfolio through invention disclosures and patent applications
- Maintain safety and compliance with lab protocols and risk assessment
Key requirements- Bachelor in Chemistry (minimum); Master or PhD preferred
- 5-10 years chemical industry experience preferred
- English language proficiency
- Basic IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Site-based, full-time role in Huguenot, NY; travel none
- Hazmat certification provided annually by Elementis
