Overview As a Senior Estimator at Stantec, you lead multi-discipline cost estimates and schedules for large infrastructure projects. You'll coordinate a team of estimators and engineers across civil, electrical, and other disciplines to support projects from design milestones through execution. The role centers on hydroelectric, power systems, and electrical infrastructure estimates, with global project opportunities and a strong emphasis on collaboration and client-facing delivery. You'll shape estimate strategies, manage risks, and drive value for complex capital programs.

Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate multi-discipline cost estimates and construction schedules
- Collaborate with other estimators to develop integrated cost estimates and schedules
- Develop detailed estimates for generators, substations, transmission and distribution systems, SCADA, and related facilities
- Coordinate input parameters, validate takeoffs, and compile information from estimating disciplines
- Create estimate execution plans, labor-work plans, and basis of cost estimate reports
- Establish site-specific criteria and wage productivity rates
- Perform quality control of design documents and propose solutions
- Support procurement, quotations, and subcontractor pricing; assist in claims valuation and negotiations
- Prepare construction logistics plans and provide innovative problem solving
- Interface with management and clients to ensure scope alignment and defensible estimates
- Maintain awareness of industry trends and improve estimate quality and competitiveness
Key requirements- Extensive technical knowledge of cost/estimating and engineering design
- Experience estimating hydroelectric, utility, renewable energy, transmission, or power infrastructure projects
- Proficiency in multiple estimating platforms (InEight, Timberline, On-Screen Take-Off, MCASES MII, IPE, HCSS)
- Experience with Primavera P6 or MS Project for scheduling
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally for site and stakeholder engagements
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities for estimating teams
- Excellent client-facing and stakeholder communication skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field and minimum 10 years relevant experience
- Experience with government-funded projects is an asset
