Overview

In this role you will serve as a subject matter expert on sustainability, e-waste, ecodesign, and product compliance for Amazon Devices. You will partner with engineering, compliance, safety, and business leaders to translate laws into practical strategies that enable fast, responsible product advances. You will work across global regulatory regimes, providing guidance and building scalable legal frameworks to support innovation. This position offers autonomy, deep stakeholder relationships, and broad advisory scope as regulatory landscapes evolve. A meaningful hook is shaping regulatory strategy for devices used by millions of customers worldwide.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as SME on sustainability, e-waste, ecodesign, and product compliance laws affecting consumer electronics
  • Advise on regulatory requirements, certifications, environmental obligations, and regulatory markings
  • Counsel on product safety, hardware compliance, environmental regulations, and product stewardship
  • Monitor new laws, interpret implications, and provide practical guidance to teams
  • Develop scalable legal frameworks to balance obligations with innovation
  • Collaborate with public policy and government affairs on emerging legislation and advocacy
  • Coordinate with international legal teams to assess global requirements and cross-border issues
  • Manage attorney-client relationships with senior stakeholders and identify risks and opportunities
  • Create business-centric strategies for complex legal issues to enable rapid movement
Key requirements
  • Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
  • 5+ years of legal experience
  • Experience in regulatory or product compliance matters in national or international contexts
  • Strong written and oral communication, analytical, and computer skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to cross-functional teams
  • Experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
