Lead Machine Learning / Data Science Engineer

Overview

In this role you will design and deploy data-driven, scalable ML solutions for enterprise clients. You will lead cross-functional collaboration with data scientists, engineers, and clients to translate needs into analytic models and production-ready systems. Your work will focus on delivering end-to-end ML capabilities on cloud platforms and shaping CapTech's ML/Datascience practice. This is an opportunity to impact client outcomes at scale while advancing CapTech's technology-led consulting mission. You will partner with clients and internal teams to drive innovation and measurable results.

Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end ML solutions by collaborating with clients and cross-functional teams
  • Decompose client needs into data-driven processes and analytical measures
  • Analyze and transform large enterprise datasets on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Design, develop, and deploy analytical solutions (e.g., recommender systems, NLP, risk scoring)
  • Productionize ML systems with optimization and scalability in mind
  • Grow ML/Data Science practices through client presentations, proposals, and leading junior teams
Key requirements
  • 7+ years delivering data engineering and ML solutions on cloud platforms
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring engineers
  • Hands-on with large-scale data (multi-billion records)
  • Proficiency in Python, Scala or similar; SQL, Spark, NoSQL; cloud data processing
  • Containerization and microservices (e.g., Docker)
  • Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Azure SQL, Amazon RDS
  • Experience with production-scale ML in domains like personalization, NLP, or computer vision
  • Knowledge of DevOps, automation, statistics, model management/versioning
  • Experience with LLMs in production and prompt engineering; MCP and RAG; agentic AI architectures
