Trenchless Services Senior Construction Consultant

Overview

As a Senior Trenchless Construction Consultant, you drive construction oversight and field execution for trenchless projects within HDR's national Trenchless Services team. You'll support design integration, conduct constructability reviews, and lead subcontractor coordination and change management. You will engage with clients and internal teams to ensure safe, quality, on-time project delivery. This role sits in a collaborative, employee-owned culture that values authentic contributions and world-wide impact. Responsibilities
  • Provide construction oversight for trenchless installations
  • Conduct constructability reviews of trenchless engineering
  • Review deliverables for trenchless construction activities
  • Perform site visits during preliminary engineering
  • Conduct route assessments for trenchless aspects of pipeline siting and routing
  • Oversee construction oversight activities including staffing and CM scopes
  • Support business development for trenchless services with clients
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities, scheduling, and quality control
  • Prepare the Project Management Plan and Construction Management Plan
  • Develop procedures for construction contract administration and implement with the project team
  • Perform procurement-related activities, schedule development, and VE reviews
  • Administer and manage construction activities; monitor design progress relative to construction
  • Coordinate bidding efforts, review subcontract terms, and prepare pay applications
  • Prepare, issue, and negotiate Change Orders; manage project budgets and schedules
  • Coordinate QA/QC, safety program compliance, and inspection services
  • Prepare progress reports and manage daily, weekly, and monthly project updates
  • Coordinate local bidding and project setup for temporary facilities
  • Perform other duties as needed
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Construction Science or closely related field or equivalent work experience
  • At least 10 years of experience in construction planning and management
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with construction management software such as Procore, Prolog, Primavera, Bluebeam
  • Strong people skills and ability to engage with Owner, Engineer, Contractor and other stakeholders
