Overview As Construction Project Planner, you guide design-build projects in the food processing sector from planning to delivery. You work with stakeholders to define requirements and craft efficient layouts that meet food safety standards. You manage cost estimates, contracts, and progress reporting, using familiar planning tools. This role combines technical design with site oversight and cross-functional collaboration to drive successful project outcomes.
Responsibilities- Define project program requirements with clients and stakeholders
- Refine project layouts for optimal design and functionality
- Prepare detailed project proposals with cost estimates
- Negotiate and finalize contracts with subcontractors and suppliers
- Conduct quantity take-offs for budgeting and planning
- Monitor progress to maintain timelines and quality
- Engage with industry professionals to stay current on best practices
- Ensure activities meet food safety and operational standards
- Provide regular status updates to stakeholders
Key requirements- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant field
- Minimum 4 years in construction project planning, preferably in food processing
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, Excel, and Word
- Strong understanding of warehouse design and food processing facilities
- Experience in preparing and negotiating contracts and proposals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to travel overnight and for multi-day trips
- Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, results-oriented attitude
- Knowledge of food safety design and procedures (highly desirable)
