Overview In this role you will lead complex architectural projects within Jacobs' Cities & Places group, focusing on regulatory compliance, design excellence, and construction phase services. You'll act as Architect of Record and SME for building codes across California, guiding cross market teams and maintaining high quality standards. You will partner with clients and stakeholders to ensure solutions are functional, resilient, and aligned with the firm's quality program. This is a hybrid, client facing opportunity that blends design leadership with code expertise to shape impactful urban projects.

Responsibilities- Lead medium to large architectural projects from concept through construction documentation and contract administration
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams (architecture, engineering, planning, interiors, consultants) and provide code analysis and compliance strategies
- Facilitate client presentations, design reviews, and stakeholder engagement
- Oversee design schedules, deliverables, and QA/QC on Code Summary and Life Safety plans
- Serve as Architect of Record on projects across California and provide responses to RFIs and submittals
- Mentor junior architects and designers and collaborate with project managers to manage design risk
- Interpret and apply CBC, IBC, ADA, NFPA, and local amendments to projects
- Ensure design deliverables meet Jacobs' Quality Program and design excellence standards
Key requirements- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture
- Licensed Architect (California)
- 20 years of architectural experience leading complex, multi disciplinary projects
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM workflows
- Deep knowledge of building codes and their application in Science & Tech, Commercial, Industrial, and Transportation markets
- Experience with ground up, Core & Shell, and interior fit out projects; familiarity with alternative delivery models (DB, PDB, CMAR, P3, IDP)
- Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills; leadership capability
