Overview

As a Senior Associate in the Accounting Methods and Credit Services practice, you will perform cost segregation and fixed asset analyses for construction, real estate, and sustainability initiatives. You will collect data, review drawings, and prepare engineering-based reports to support tax treatment and asset classifications. You will collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure accurate analyses and drive process improvements with automation. This role offers exposure to high-profile engagements and opportunities to advance within a global tax advisory network.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and perform cost segregation and fixed asset analyses for construction projects, real estate acquisitions, and renewable energy initiatives
  • Analyze cost data, GL detail, drawings, and capitalization support to determine asset classification and eligible tax treatment
  • Conduct site visits to evaluate building components and validate cost assumptions
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to gather documentation and ensure analysis accuracy
  • Prepare engineering-based reports, depreciation analyses, reconciliations, and client deliverables, including fixed asset outsourcing engagements
  • Identify opportunities related to sales tax exemptions and contribute to workflow improvements and automation initiatives
Key requirements
  • Minimum two years of relevant experience in engineering, cost segregation, fixed asset consulting, construction, or related field
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, taxation, engineering, architecture, construction management, or related discipline
  • Strong understanding of construction processes and building systems and how costs translate to asset classifications
  • Knowledge of federal income tax depreciation and capital expenditures accounting
  • Experience reviewing technical drawings and large project cost data
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with structured data; aptitude with data wrangling/automation tools and BI or scripting languages
