Supply Chain Project Director - EPC / Construction

Overview

As Supply Chain Project Director, you lead procuring, sourcing, expediting and material management for mega EPC projects, ensuring plans, budgets and schedules are met. You coordinate with the Project Management Team and Business Unit to deliver supply chain services while upholding SOPs and project procedures. You shape procurement strategy, manage critical sourcing events and drive contract execution with suppliers and vendors. You report to executive management and act as the single accountable leader for supply chain delivery on the project. You affect project outcomes by aligning teams, risk management and commercial negotiations to project goals.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate sourcing, purchasing, expediting and material management for projects
  • Ensure adherence to SOPs, project procedures and prime contract
  • Lead staffing and execution strategy for procurement to meet budget and schedule
  • Define scope of purchases and identify critical sourcing events
  • Review/approve bid evaluations and finalize supplier selections
  • Conduct negotiations and prepare conformed contracts
  • Initiate contract kickoff meetings with critical suppliers and develop agendas
  • Ensure quality goals are met and work is completed on time
  • Act as single point of accountability for mega project supply chain execution
  • Interface with customers, vendors and executive management for reporting and risk management
  • Develop purchasing strategy, CML, and preliminary execution plan for critical procurements
  • Develop cash flow for CML items and work with lead estimator
  • Coordinate with Engineering to maintain workflows for technical documents and reviews
  • Mentor and coach junior buyers in procurement team
  • Validate independent cost analyses or benchmarking as needed
  • Collaborate with Project Controls to develop procurement scheduling and baseline maintenance
Key requirements
  • 10+ years of EPC project experience
  • experience managing a team of 40+
  • strong market acumen across spend categories
