Overview

In this role you will plan, design, and direct civil engineering projects at GFY, driving profitability and timely delivery. You will act as a project lead and client contact, coordinating cross-functional teams to execute engineering work within budget and schedule. You will assess topographic, geologic, and hydrological data to inform designs and oversee quality across the project lifecycle. Responsibilities
  • Prepare and monitor project budgets and ensure profitability
  • Manage project schedules and ensure on-time completion
  • Serve as project manager or senior project engineer and client liaison
  • Supervise client relationship strategies and pricing/estimating workflows
  • Develop engineering agreements and forecast staff workload
  • Estimate probable construction costs for projects
  • Attend client meetings (day or night)
  • Oversee work-in-process, client billings, and AR collection
  • Analyze site data (soil, terrain, hydrology) to plan designs
  • Direct and supervise engineers and potentially perform supervisory duties
  • Handle contract administration and prepare/modify reports, plans, schedules, and environmental studies
  • Instruct draftspersons to produce working drawings and visit construction sites for progress checks
  • Use CAD/CAE software to prepare engineering documents
  • Ensure compliance with the quality system tasks in the quality manual
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Florida
  • Valid driver's license
  • Client relationship management

  • Cost estimation and project budgeting
