Overview In this role you drive the daily operations of university-based laboratory facilities, enabling high-impact urology research. You will lead lab staff, manage equipment and supplies, and ensure safety and compliance. You will support tissue handling, immunohistochemistry, xenograft work, and specimen biobanking across multiple labs, contributing to translational research and collaborative projects. This on-site, hands-on leadership position offers impact through efficient facility operations and high-quality data support. You will work closely with researchers to enable cutting-edge biomarker and imaging studies.
Responsibilities- Direct and coordinate staff supporting laboratory operations and complex research activities
- Oversee lab supply inventory, equipment maintenance, and procurement
- Triage service requests, assign tasks, and train on complex analytical techniques and specimen bank management
- Oversee tissue acquisition, processing, embedding, sectioning, and immunohistochemistry
- Support animal work including tissue slices and grafts, drug administration, and cell culture development
- Manage specimen bank operations and clinical databases for cancer-related tissues and serum samples
- Assist in creating and renewing IRB-approved protocols; maintain records of human tissue and serum usage
- Oversee budget administration across multiple funding sources and supervise unit staff
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination
