Overview As a Performance Architect at SiFive, you will lead the performance team to push the boundaries of high-performance RISC-V cores. You will collaborate with product and architecture leadership to set ambitious performance targets and shape core design decisions. You will design experiments and validate features that translate into RTL-delivered performance wins. Responsibilities- Lead a team of performance engineers to research, model and develop architecture/micro-architecture ideas to build state-of-the-art processors achieving aggressive performance targets
- Collaborate with Product Management and Product Architect to define architecture/product performance targets
- Design and run experiments to research and develop architecture/micro-architecture features
- Work with the design team to implement and deliver performance targets in RTL
Key requirements- MS or PhD in Computer Science / Computer Architecture
- 10+ years of experience in high performance processor development
- 5+ years leading engineering teams delivering HW or SW products
- Hands-on HW development experience (RTL/implementation flows, verification/validation, backend flows, FPGA flows); FPGA debugging with Integrated Logic Analyzer
- Expert in analyzing performance bottlenecks in micro-architecture and software stack; security awareness a plus
- Strong foundation in high-performance out-of-order CPU architectures; knowledge of industry micro-architectures a plus
- Strong foundation in workload characterization to identify HW/SW performance bottlenecks
- Strong foundation in workload reduction techniques for efficient performance simulation and projection
