Overview

In this role you will actively manage and optimize a commercial insurance product line within the Glatfelter and AIG programs ecosystem. You will shape underwriting standards, pricing, and portfolio strategy to drive growth, profitability, and risk control. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new and existing portfolios and to implement program-specific initiatives. The position emphasizes technical underwriting leadership, governance, and risk management within a large, integrated insurer-broker environment.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and optimize multiple commercial insurance product lines (General Liability, Automobile, Garage, D&O, EPL, Professional Liability, Umbrella)
  • Develop portfolio strategies to maximize product line penetration and ensure price adequacy
  • Approve underwriting authorities, manuscript forms, and referrals; lead form approval for admitted business
  • Provide technical guidance to PMs, PLMs, and Product Development on portfolios
  • Deliver product line objectives aligned to annual goals; respond to market conditions; train staff
  • Evaluate staff performance and recommend compensation decisions
  • Prepare quarterly and YTD results by line (premium, renewal retention, loss trends, profitability)
  • Coordinate large claims responses with senior claims teams; support cross-functional risk management initiatives
  • Act as product line expert on existing business; advise on form/cov revisions and rating options
  • Establish underwriting best practices across programs in collaboration with CUO
  • Support Transition projects (e.g., Coverall NexGen) and respond to new risk management guidelines
Key requirements
  • Casualty underwriting/underwriting management experience
  • Strong understanding of admitted/non-admitted business requirements
  • Supervisory experience
  • Programs experience preferred
  • Knowledge of ISOnet; ISO relationships preferred
  • Ability to travel 20%
