Overview

In this role you help lead inspection activities for major infrastructure projects as part of CHA's Construction Inspection team. You will coordinate among owners, contractors, and inspectors to ensure work aligns with FDOT standards and CPAM requirements. You drive documentation, tracking, and interim/ final estimates to keep projects on schedule and compliant. This is a hands-on position that blends field oversight with contract administration, offering exposure to diverse transportation work. You'll work in a collaborative environment with opportunities for local travel and hybrid work flexibility.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain records of plans, documents, and submittals per FDOT guidelines
  • Coordinate among owners, contractors, and inspection staff to stay aligned
  • Review daily inspection reports and quantity computations for accuracy and compliance
  • Review and distribute contractor submittals to ensure contract requirements are met
  • Track contract progress, maintain project tracking logs, prepare monthly progress estimates, build final estimate package
  • Assign tasks to inspectors and support all phases of project execution
  • Ensure activities align with FDOT policies and the Construction Project Administration Manual (CPAM)
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field or HS Diploma with 8 years of transportation project experience
  • 4+ years of engineering experience in relevant transportation projects (or 8+ with HS Diploma)
  • Prior experience as Project Administrator, Assistant Project Administrator or Contract Support Specialist
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to navigate active construction sites
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in interpreting client contracts and enforcing standards
  • CTQP Final Estimates Level II, FDOT Advanced MOT, and/or CTQP Quality Control Manager credentials preferred
