Responsibilities- Estimate and negotiate changes throughout the construction lifecycle
- Develop and present final cost plans and cost planning deliverables
- Collaborate with design teams and general contractors on cost estimates
- Reconcile changes and ensure contractor data accuracy
- Prepare cost estimates updates with client and project manager input
- Provide comments on contractor submissions and executive summaries
- Coordinate all cost information sources for discussions and supplier data
- Inform engineering priorities based on cost impact
- Manage cost checks, valuations, and post-contract variances
- Lead value engineering sessions and cost presentations for stakeholders
- Review pricing and negotiate contracts on behalf of the client
- Perform quantity surveying, cost controls, and change management
- Ensure robust cost validation, auditing, and final accounts
- Produce monthly cost reports and ensure timely final agreements
- Coach and mentor talent; demonstrate leadership and service excellence
- Utilize internal software for margin tracking and forecasts
- Adopt internal business systems and delivery methodologies for consistent practice
- Promote a one-business culture and adhere to SOX controls where applicable
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 5-7 years of relevant cost management experience in construction
- RICS accredited or pursuing accreditation preferred
- Experience leading cost management on medium to large-scale, complex projects
- Construction consultancy experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of procurement routes, value management, and value engineering
- Experience supporting major capital projects from planning through closeout
