Overview In this hands-on role, you will establish and maintain systems to ensure raw materials and finished goods meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards. You'll lead the development and execution of QA programs across HACCP/HARPC, SQF, GMP, and related food safety initiatives to protect product integrity. You'll oversee sanitation, staff education, and cross-functional collaboration with production to uphold hygienic conditions and compliance. This role offers impact through shaping robust food safety systems and driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement quality management systems and procedures
- Oversee HACCP/HARPC-based programs, SSOP, GMP, and other QA and food safety initiatives
- Lead SQF program implementation, validation of prerequisites, and annual system review
- Manage cleaning and sanitation operations and ensure hygienic plant conditions
- Define quality policies with production to meet standards and regulations
- Inspect and sample manufacturing processes and identify improvement opportunities
- Educate staff on food safety and quality practices
- Ensure policy adherence and escalate issues to authorized personnel
Key requirements- Bachelor in related field (food science/technology or chemistry)
- 5+ years' experience in food manufacturing
- SQF and HACCP certification
- PCQI certification preferred
- Experience with FDA/USDA regulations
- Knowledge of low/moderate-moisture bakery and snack foods
- Strong leadership and project management skills
- Effective communication and report-writing abilities
