Overview

In this role you will advance Prime Video's ability to deliver the highest quality video experiences. You'll own the product, user experience, and technology to push state-of-the-art video quality through DL models and production deployments. You'll collaborate with research scientists and ML engineers to build scalable solutions for content restoration, HDR up-conversion, and perceptual quality under varying network conditions. Your work shapes how customers enjoy Prime Video content across devices and contexts, with a clear focus on real impact and innovation.

Responsibilities
  • Create ground-truth datasets for model training
  • Design and train video diffusion model architectures for temporal consistency and perceptual quality
  • Deploy and optimize ML models in production workflows
  • Define and measure at-scale success metrics for video quality
  • Explore scene understanding at a semantic level for improved encoding/quality
  • Collaborate with research scientists to advance video encoding and compression
  • Conduct subjective ratings tests and develop quality models that align with human judgments
  • Contribute to development of ML/DL processes, guardrails, and team workflows
  • Support product roadmap discussions with ML/AI considerations
  • Mentor and help hire talent, sharing knowledge across the team
Key requirements
  • 3+ years of building machine learning models for business applications
  • PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience
  • Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
  • Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning
