Water/Wastewater Project Technical Lead

Overview

In this role you lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver water and wastewater treatment and conveyance projects, guiding technical solutions from planning through construction. You'll work within Stantec's Water practice in Santa Barbara to advance innovative, sustainable infrastructure and support client needs. The position offers leadership growth and a chance to become a recognized technical resource in California. You will collaborate across disciplines and with clients to shape project outcomes and execution. Lead with impact in a firm that emphasizes safety, collaboration, and delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and solutions for water and/or wastewater projects
  • Manage projects through design-bid-build and alternate delivery methods
  • Direct and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Develop reports, specs, calculations, design drawings, submittals, and models
  • Communicate with clients during planning, design, and construction
  • Support innovation through conferences and professional partnerships
  • Promote project delivery structure with PMs and Sector Leads
  • Coordinate marketing and project delivery with leadership and PMs
  • Understand and meet client needs and align technical solutions with project teams
  • Mentor junior professionals and uphold safety procedures
Key requirements
  • Experience leading water/wastewater treatment or conveyance designs from pursuit to construction
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams including internal staff and subconsultants
  • Experience with collaborative delivery projects with contractors and vendors
  • Strong client service, project management, and design management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Passion for team building and mentoring
  • Strong technical skills with at least one area of specialized expertise
  • Ability to manage budgets and quality management for projects
  • Experience with marketing and client relationship development and proposal writing
