Strategic Sourcing Specialist III Electronics

Overview

In this role you will develop and execute sourcing strategies for the electronics category to reduce total costs and improve supplier value. You will collaborate with divisional stakeholders and cross-functional partners to ensure product quality and cost savings. The position focuses on market intelligence, supplier management, and VIPs to optimize total cost of ownership while aligning with development timelines. This is a chance to shape procurement for medical devices at a global scale and drive measurable value.

Responsibilities
  • Gather market intelligence and trends for the electronics category and sub-categories
  • Identify suitable suppliers and build a comprehensive supplier database
  • Lead category-wide material and supplier selection and management, exploring insourcing/outsourcing opportunities
  • Manage strategic supplier relationships according to category strategy
  • Analyze data and develop cost models (should-cost, COGS) to manage the category
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate supplier risks
  • Work with suppliers to drive continuous value improvements for quality, service, and cost
  • Monitor supplier performance and identify Value Improvement Programs (VIP) to reduce total cost of ownership
  • Balance collaboration and competitive pressure with suppliers to maximize value, including contract negotiations and VIPs
  • Support annual budget process for assigned suppliers and resolve systematic issues
  • Ensure early involvement to meet development performance goals, timelines, and cost targets
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, business or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of direct sourcing experience and supplier relationship management
  • Experience with MS Excel and other office applications
  • Ability to travel globally up to 20%
  • Strong negotiation and decision-making abilities
  • Influence across internal and external teams
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills across all levels
