Overview

In this role you will lead on-site commissioning of mechanical infrastructure for data centers, ensuring reliable, efficient operation of cooling, humidity, and fire suppression systems. You will work with cross-functional teams to execute commissioning scopes, prepare plans and tests, and drive issues to resolution. You'll mentor trainees, document findings, and coordinate with client and internal leads to meet mission-critical requirements. This is a front-line role in a growing data center portfolio with opportunities to influence performance and energy efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Perform on-site commissioning of critical mechanical infrastructure for data centers (cooling, humidity, fire suppression)
  • Execute project-specific commissioning scopes as directed by Site Lead and Mechanical Commissioning Lead
  • Provide timely reports and raise urgent issues to Site Lead/Mechanical Commissioning Lead; participate in technical meetings
  • Train and mentor trainees on data center commissioning best practices (mechanical, TAB, controls integration)
  • Develop and review commissioning plans, narratives, pre-functional checklists, and functional performance tests for data centers
  • Coordinate and schedule commissioning site visits and deliverables for large data center projects
  • Conduct FAT, SAT, IST testing; document results and analyze system performance
  • Review TAB reports with focus on precision cooling and airflow management; assess BAS integration
  • Prepare final commissioning reports aligned with client expectations; collaborate with electrical CxA
Key requirements
  • HS Diploma or A.S. Degree in a related field
  • 2+ years in commissioning, mechanical engineering, or related construction trades (Mechanical, TAB, or Controls)
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and commissioning software
  • Willingness to travel frequently or relocate for commissioning projects
  • Understanding of mechanical system installations and BAS/advanced control platforms
  • Team player with proven collaboration ability
  • Valid Driver's License and clean background check (drug screenings on site)
