Overview In this role you will oversee a growing litigation caseload for defaulted loans across national networks and hundreds of local offices. You will coordinate between external counsel and SoFi's in-house team to optimize litigation execution, hearings, and settlements, while driving process improvements and reporting. You will partner with Compliance, Finance, Internal Audit, and Third Party Risk Management to ensure proper documentation and risk mitigation. This position offers the chance to influence how SoFi manages litigation risk and performance metrics at scale.
Responsibilities- Oversee active litigation placements across a large attorney network for Personal Loans, Student Loans, and Credit Card accounts
- Review caseloads, assess pleadings and settlements, and ensure proper documentation for case demands
- Coordinate as cross-functional liaison between external network and in-house counsel on complex legal matters
- Engage internal partners (Compliance, Finance, Internal Audit, Third Party Risk Management) regularly
- Track performance with Recovery analyst; introduce KPIs and deliver portfolio reporting to management
- Evaluate and improve the litigation engagement model; identify workflow gaps and implement operational enhancements
- Manage multiple complex matters simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
Key requirements- 5 years minimum litigation paralegal experience in FinTech, large bank, law firm, or in-house legal department
- Bachelor's degree; ABA paralegal certification or Associates/Bachelor's in paralegal studies
- Experience with litigation case management platforms such as Legal Tracker or CounselLink
- Strong analytical, written and verbal communication, and high attention to detail
