Responsibilities- Own end-to-end solution architecture for a domain or major initiative, including data flows and non-functional requirements
- Define and govern architecture for large-scale, cross-platform systems
- Translate business goals into a pragmatic technical roadmap with product/engineering leadership
- Lead architecture and design reviews; document decisions, trade-offs, and guardrails
- Stay hands-on through prototypes, reference implementations, and spikes to mitigate risk
- Establish and enforce engineering standards across APIs, testing, CI/CD, and secure-by-default practices
- Embed operability by design: observability, resilience, runbooks, incident readiness
- Serve as technical escalation point and drive root cause analysis
- Contribute across the SDLC: estimation, design, and delivery
- Mentor senior engineers and emerging architects
- Support pre-sales with solution architecture and effort estimation
- Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies and patterns
- Lead and mentor a team of architects to drive consistency and scalability
Key requirements- 15+ years of software development experience
- 12+ years of hands-on Java experience
- 5+ years of AWS experience
- 5+ years as a Practice Architect or Lead Architect
- Strong experience with Java frameworks (Spring, Spring Boot), REST, and microservices
- Experience designing distributed, highly available systems
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, messaging, and integration patterns
- Security, identity, compliance, and secure-by-default practices
- CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices with tools like Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
- Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
