Overview As an HR Generalist, you will support day-to-day HR operations in a service-focused organization in New Brighton, MN. This contract role balances employee support with administrative follow-through across onboarding, benefits, and compliance. You will apply practical HR knowledge to maintain accurate records, respond to staff inquiries, and assist with leave and HRIS-related tasks. Your work helps sustain a compliant, positive workplace while partnering with managers and employees to resolve issues and improve processes. This is a hands-on role that shapes everyday HR operations and contributes to organizational efficiency.
Responsibilities- Provide day-to-day HR support by answering employee questions and guiding staff on policies and procedures
- Coordinate onboarding for new hires, including documentation and orientation support
- Administer benefits activities such as enrollments and updates with accuracy and timeliness
- Maintain and update employee data in HR systems to ensure current, compliant records
- Assist with leave administration, including FMLA tracking and communications
- Support HR administration with reports, personnel changes, and confidential records handling
- Utilize HRIS and Oracle to enter data, monitor transactions, and improve consistency in operations
- Partner with managers and employees on employee relations matters and escalate sensitive issues when needed
