Overview In this role, you own end-to-end procurement of critical Starship mechanical hardware, ensuring alignment with technical specs, cost targets, and production schedules. You will forecast demand, assess supplier capacity, and manage purchase orders to sustain development and production timelines. You'll monitor supplier performance, interpret engineering drawings, and coordinate design changes to minimize downtime. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to enable SpaceX's mission of enabling human life on Mars through fast, reliable sourcing and supplier collaboration.

Responsibilities- Own sourcing activities for precision-machined components, heat treat, coatings, forgings, castings, and other complex parts.
- Quote, negotiate, and place purchase orders aligned with specs, costs, and delivery schedules.
- Forecast demand, evaluate supplier capacity, and manage POs to maintain supply for development and production.
- Track supplier performance on quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost in a fast-paced environment.
- Interpret engineering drawings and specs to select manufacturable, quality parts and achieve cost efficiency.
- Manage design changes with clear communication to suppliers to minimize downtime and lead times.
- Resolve complex supply chain problems in ambiguous settings to ensure continuity of supply.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive alignment and support change management.
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree or advanced degree with 2+ years in Engineering, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Contract negotiation, or related fields; or 6+ years in one or more of these areas.
