Overview In this role you will develop and review cost estimates for complex facilities and projects, supporting decision-making and performance monitoring. You will work with engineers and other specialists to define scope, analyze data, and refine pricing structures for DOE-related and private engagements. The position emphasizes accuracy, methodology development, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure credible estimates. This is an opportunity to contribute to high-stakes environmental, energy, and industrial projects at ProSidian's customer sites.
Responsibilities- Develop comprehensive cost estimates for complex facilities
- Identify incomplete design definitions and scope gaps
- Coordinate with engineering to quantify uncertain scope
- Establish conceptual scope when needed
- Maintain pricing structures and estimating databases
- Analyze vendor data and labor productivity
- Perform productivity analysis and crew sizing
- Review others' estimates for accuracy and completeness
- Assist in estimating contingency and risk assessments
- Prepare management reviews and reconcile estimates for complex activities
- Contribute to cost studies and historical data analyses
- Participate in value engineering studies
- Prepare and review estimates for contract proposals
Key requirements- Bachelor in Engineering, Technical, Construction Management, or Business
- 6-10 years of estimating experience, or 15-20 years in nuclear/heavy industrial/process chemical construction in a field capacity with at least 10 years estimating experience
- Understanding of engineering, procurement, construction environments
- Planning and scheduling and cost controls knowledge
- Conceptual estimating and interface with engineers
- DOE project experience preferred
- U.S. citizen and able to pass drug screen and background check
- Experience with estimating software (SUCCESS Estimator)
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data tools
