Overview

As a Development Project Manager - Electrical SME, you will provide technical leadership on electrical design for data center projects. You will coordinate with Facilities, design teams, construction, and operations to ensure designs meet standards, codes, and client requirements. You will guide scope definitions, issue resolution during construction and commissioning, and collaboration with procurement and vendors. Your work supports reliable, mission-critical data centers and cross-functional project success. This role offers the chance to impact design standards and drive safe, compliant electrical systems at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Review drawings for adherence to design standards
  • Collaborate with internal and external design teams to ensure compliance with standards, local codes, and AHJ requirements
  • Define project scope and deviations from standards with stakeholders and design team
  • Assist construction, commissioning, and risk management teams with RFIs and value engineering queries
  • Coordinate with procurement to review OFCI equipment submittals for standard compliance
  • Support resolving design issues during construction and commissioning
  • Coordinate with strategic procurement on equipment procurement
  • Develop/review Short Circuit, Coordination, and Arc Flash studies (SCCAF) per design standards
  • Travel up to 25%
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field with 3+ years in electrical design engineering or construction
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in design engineering or construction involving electrical systems, including power, redundancy, short circuit, coordination, and arc flash analysis
  • 2+ years applying NEC and other electrical standards and methodologies
  • Preferred: experience designing electrical systems for data centers and large-scale projects
  • Professional Engineering license preferred
  • Strong ability to communicate complex technical issues to senior leadership or non-engineers
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team player who works well in internal and external environments
  • Strong problem-solving abilities at tactical and functional levels
  • Electrical design engineering

  • NEC and electrical standards knowledge
