Overview

As a Federal Tax Partner in Baker Tilly's National Real Estate Practice, you will help lead tax advisory and compliance work for construction and real estate clients. You will partner with firm leadership to grow the client base, shape service delivery, and mentor a team of professionals. You will handle complex tax matters, coordinate with specialty practices, and drive client value through strategic tax planning and process improvements. Responsibilities
  • Lead federal tax compliance and consulting for construction and real estate clients
  • Manage day-to-day client relationships on tax matters for middle market to multinational clients
  • Research and advise on corporate and flow-through taxation, ASC 740, accounting methods
  • Coordinate with specialty tax practices on state/local, international, credits and incentives
  • Oversee tax planning for federal and individual clients; review complex tax research for business transactions
  • Suggest business and process improvements based on client operations and objectives
  • Manage engagement staffing, billing/collections, and maintain client profitability
  • Cultivate internal and external networks to win new clients, projects, and revenue
  • Participate in market positioning, branding, strategy, and messaging for tax services
  • Invest in professional development and mentor team members
  • Represent the firm at community events and firm functions
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • CPA or JD required or Enrolled Agent
  • 15+ years' experience in federal tax compliance and consulting for real estate clients
  • Proven success in building a book of business
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience and mentoring staff
  • Strong leadership, analytical, organizational, communication, and project management skills
  • Ability to lead, deliver exceptional client service, and maintain high ethical standards
  • Advanced software and Microsoft Suite skills
  • Willingness to travel nationally and to other Baker Tilly offices
