Overview In this role you drive the front-end of project delivery, guiding a cross-functional team through design, estimation, and preconstruction activities for diverse project delivery methods. You lead proposal development, risk assessment, and cost modeling to position projects for success. You collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and design partners, ensuring schedules, budgets, and safety standards are met. This role offers impact by shaping early project strategy and enabling winning bids for complex design-build and CMAR/EPC programs.
Responsibilities- Lead development of project proposals and client presentations
- Coordinate preconstruction strategy with engineering, estimating, and project controls
- Supervise preconstruction and estimating staff and manage vendor/subcontractor relationships
- Develop and maintain cost models, schedules, and bid tabs for accurate pricing
- Perform risk assessment and approve changes with senior management
- Prepare and review WBS, cost controls, and insurance/bonding requirements
- Oversee downstream RFPs, scope of work documents, and subcontractor qualification
- Provide monthly cost analysis and manage department budgets
- Lead the transition between preconstruction and project execution teams
- Ensure QA/QC adherence and safety program compliance
- Train staff on estimating and prequalification processes
- Maintain BIM-enabled estimating support and early cost model development
- Present reports to executive management
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 7 years direct program/project management experience or equivalent
- Strong understanding of all construction disciplines
- Excellent communications and supervisory skills
- Ability to meet driving requirements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite
- Experience with cost modeling, scheduling, and preconstruction planning
