Overview As Principal Scientist, lead AI/ML and computational initiatives accelerating pharmaceutical R&D from preclinical to clinical stages. You will shape pragmatic AI strategies, develop and benchmark end-to-end, agent-enabled pipelines, and collaborate with PMs and platform ventures. Your work spans omics, biomolecule design, literature mining, and systems biology, tying methods to action through agent-based workflows. You'll mentor teams, influence strategy, and advance cross-portfolio impact in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting.

Responsibilities- Lead development, implementation, and reporting of AI/ML and computational projects across preclinical to clinical programs
- Own build, scaling, benchmarking, and maintenance of agentic systems for end-to-end R&D acceleration
- Promote AI project best practices and educate cross-functional collaborators
- Manage and coordinate internal/external scientists and engineers; mentor hires and support recruiting
- Contribute to project planning, budgets, resources, timelines; surface risks and options early
- Scout emerging AI/ML literature and landscape; propose new development strategies for PI, PM, and venture portfolios
- Communicate complex findings to diverse audiences to enable informed decisions
Key requirements- Master's or PhD in a relevant field with 5+ years in academic, pharmaceutical, or biotech settings; industry AI/ML experience preferred
- Proven track record of leadership and decision-making in AI/ML projects
- Strong technical foundation across Python, modern ML frameworks (PyTorch/JAX/TensorFlow), version control, databases, deep learning architectures
