Overview

As an Associate Scientist II in R&D, you contribute to product quality, manufacturing excellence, and new product development by solving complex technical problems. You will apply advanced microscopy and analytical methods to identify particles, investigate root causes, and generate insights that guide decisions across R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing. You'll work with cross-functional teams, adopting innovative approaches to improve methodologies and processes. This role offers hands-on science with meaningful impact on patient safety and product performance.

Responsibilities
  • Lead laboratory investigations on particle identification, failure analysis, and root cause determination
  • Design and execute experiments independently using scientific principles
  • Utilize microscopy and spectroscopy to characterize materials and support development
  • Collaborate with global R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to drive solutions
  • Evaluate data and provide technical recommendations affecting project direction
  • Improve analytical approaches and processes through innovative methods
  • Contribute to feasibility assessments and evaluations for new concepts and processes
  • Ensure research activities and documentation comply with GxP, quality, and regulatory standards
Key requirements
  • Hands-on experience with analytical/characterization techniques (PLM, SEM, EDS, FTIR, Raman)
  • Strong scientific problem-solving and data interpretation skills
  • Ability to communicate results clearly and write technical documentation
  • Collaborative mindset for cross-functional work
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies and methods
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience or Master's degree in a related field
