Overview As Actuarial Manager, you will guide Medicare-focused client engagements within the Provider VBP Enablement vertical, shaping value-based strategies for health systems, physician groups, and ACOs. You will lead cross-functional teams, mentor analysts, and drive analytic work on MSSP, TCOC, and risk adjustment to support growth opportunities. This client-facing role blends technical modeling with strategic advisory, backed by Milliman's analytics toolkit. You will influence project direction, ensure quality deliverables, and contribute to product development while expanding client relationships.

Responsibilities- Serve as client-facing actuary on complex Medicare advisory work (provider VBP, ACO strategy, and Medicare Advantage engagements)
- Advise on MSSP performance, TCOC benchmarking, and risk adjustment for health systems, groups, and ACOs
- Support opportunities like CMS LEAD and other CMMI innovation programs
- Manage and mentor professional staff on client engagements
- Lead workstreams independently to enable senior leadership focus on business development
- Provide quality review and mentoring to junior staff
- Perform data analysis using Excel, SAS, Python, SQL, and Milliman tools for various health insurance domains
- Support financial modeling for ACO performance and shared savings projections
- Review work and assist with research and product development
- Train and coach staff and manage multiple projects with clear client communications
Key requirements- Bachelor's or Master's in quantitative field (Bachelor's required)
- 7+ years of actuarial experience with Medicare programs (MA or ACO)
- FSA designation with SOA
- Strong analytical and client-facing communication skills
- Proven ability to manage and mentor junior staff
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and actuarial concepts
- Experience with Python, SQL, SAS, VBA or similar data analytics languages
- Ability to handle multiple projects and deliverables with quality and timeliness
