Overview

As TS&D Leader for Aircraft Deicing Fluids, you will oversee Midland DIS R&D/TS&D labs, guiding a mix of Dow technicians and contractors. You'll drive application development, product qualification, and innovation for ADF, collaborating with customers and cross-functional teams in sales, manufacturing, and product stewardship. Your leadership will shape lab capabilities, project delivery, and growth initiatives. This role offers hands-on impact across technical, customer, and strategic fronts, with travel to meet client needs.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the Midland TS&D technician team and align resources with value-generating R&D/TS&D projects
  • Serve as SME for ADF, providing technical support to Supply Chain, Manufacturing, QA, and Product Stewardship
  • Develop technical training materials and train customers, distributors, and internal stakeholders
  • Generate laboratory data to support customer-driven projects and Dow product placement in the industry
  • Maintain expertise on key ADF formulation additives and participate in SAE G-12 committees and conferences
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver customer-focused technical solutions and problem-solving
  • Advance product development and formulation chemistry for large-scale batch processes
  • Provide direction for customer testing labs, handling hundreds of samples per season
  • Oversee safety, EH&S, and lab operations, ensuring compliance and safety culture
  • Plan and manage capital expenditures to grow laboratory capabilities
  • Organize regular team meetings to communicate safety and business topics
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, engineering, or science-related discipline or equivalent military experience (E5 or Canadian equivalent) or 12 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  • Masters or PhD preferred
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%
  • Legal ability to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship
  • Experience leading laboratory operations and cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in technical problem-solving and customer-facing analytics
